# SDL 3 patches for the web port
|

|
|
install.sh (component `sdl3Web`) applies these to the SDL 3 release source
|
|
in filename order before building it with Emscripten. The web port's gates
|
|
depend on every one of them.
|
|
|
|

| 0001-emscripten-initial-axes | SDL's Emscripten joystick driver reports no axis values when a gamepad is opened, so SDL takes the first value each axis reports as its resting value and drops it: the first push of a stick in each direction never arrived. The patch reports an axis's resting value before its first change (SDL allocates the axes only after the driver's open, so it cannot be done there, as SDL's other drivers do). | `verify-web-joy.sh` |
